Pipers Farm started as a 50-acre family farm in 1989. Peter Greig and his wife, Henri, wanted to raise animals in a way that was inspired by and respected nature and resulted in healthy food that they wanted to feed their kids. Now, Pipers Farm includes 45 small-scale family farms that share common values in producing food in a sustainable way. 

Peter Greig and his daughter-in-law, Abby Allen, are on the show today to chat about Pipers Farm’s new cookbook - The Sustainable Meat Cookbook: Recipes & Wisdom for Considered Carnivores. Did you know that the health of your mouth is closely tied to the health of your body? It’s true. 

My guest today, health-based dentist Dr. Michelle Jorgensen, explains how many of today’s chronic diseases are associated with what’s going on in your mouth and teeth. Michelle’s story is a familiar one. After practicing conventional dentistry for 10 years, she began to develop symptoms that couldn’t be explained or treated. She discovered her condition was caused by mercury poisoning from performing standard dentistry procedures. Not only did her research into her own health resolve her issues, it completely changed the way she practiced. 

One thing Michelle makes clear is how critical nutrition is to a healthy mouth. If you are concerned with good oral care, this episode is a must-listen.
